Compounded vs. branded semaglutide

Branded semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) is manufactured by Novo Nordisk under FDA oversight and reviewed for safety, efficacy, and consistency through the New Drug Application process. Compounded semaglutide is prepared by a state-licensed 503A pharmacy (or, formerly, by an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility).
